Rural public space is an important part of the rural space, it is the Space vector of villagers’ day-to-day outdoor activities and public events, it is also the concentration place of the villagers’ social and public opinion. Rural public space refers to political, economic, cultural and many other fields, it is an important field of building a harmonious rural society. Under the influence of globalization and marketization, South of Jiangsu rural society gradually moving towards open, and it is changed from the" The acquaintance society" to "the stranger society ", it is translated from The rural society which is based on the ethical to a modern society which is based on modern contract. In southern Jiangsu, It experienced rural industrialization in 1978, then Outward-oriented Economy developed in 1990s.After that, "Three centralization, three replacement" policy and new socialist countryside construction was put forward in the 21st century Great changes have taken place in southern Jiangsu rural society since 1978. At the same time, Rural public space in southern Jiangsu has been reconstructed. Based on the viewpoint of the transformation of function and spatial form, through tracing historical events that impact on the rural public space, this paper discusses the evolution characteristics and dynamic mechanism of the rural public space in southern Jiangsu. then it analyses the current energy crisis of rural public space and its causes. lastly, it explores the reconstruction strategy based on Function- form match theory, the overall organic update theory and the theory it related to. There are four parts in this thesis.The article learned from the spirit and essence of scholars, integrated of sociology, anthropology, political science and interdisciplinary academic field of vision, exploring South of Jiangsu rural public space evolution and reconstruction. At first, the thesis discriminate and define the basic concepts, and summarizing the related studies. Then, based on the dimension of history and the view of the function transformation and the form reconstruction, the thesis have a deep analysis and description with the evolution trace of rural public space in the southern Jiangsu, also excavate and discuss the declining nature of rural public space deeply. At the end of the article, make a summary of the inner formation rule of the rural public space and the relationship between function and form, considered that the reason what lead to the function produce separation and recombination continuously under the evolution of form is the impact, happened on rural life world system by the external factor.Secondly, to built the whole idea of reconstruction of rural public space of south of Jiangsu combined with related theoretical foundation, reference to the mechanism of evolution and development of rural public space, proposed strategy and be specifically addressed for the "New forms" of public space reconstruction. Finally, selected Suzhou Yujia village of empirical research as evidence, and to make relevant recommendations and opinions of the paths and strategies for its rural public space reconstruction.
