Power industry, as a fundamental energy industry, supply an important support for the rapid expansion of various businesses. with the advance of the policy of reform and opening up, our economy achieves rapid development, which is reflected by county economies. In county of China, the development of industry, agriculture and service is amazing, which changes electricity consumption, usage demand, and method of power distribution. Owing to weak structure of distribution network is weak, lack in method of monitoring and control and low degree of automation, the development of distribution network is left behind of economy, which can’t satisfy the demand of society power usage. So it’s necessary to promote the development of distribution automation system.Based on the study and analysis of the development of domestic and international distribution network automation of research, this paper analyzes the development situation of distribution automation system, demonstrates the value of design distribution automation system in Yi county, proposes the total goal of establishing automation system, presents technological model of automation system fit for Yi county, which contains master station scheme, commutation scheme, feeder automation scheme, and distribution terminal strategy and SCADA system. This paper provide reference and guide for distribution automation system design in other counties.
