Smart grid contacts the modern science and technology,advanced ideas and thetraditional power grid perfectly. It is of great important to solve the global problems, suchas energy, ecology, climate, which is the only way to achieve sustainable development.Distribution network automation is an important part of smart grid. The construction ofdistribution network automation system must lead to raising the level of management ofdistribution network, contribute to flexible demand side management and user drivenvalue-added services market, also lay a solid foundation for power system scheduling,operation, maintenance, management and economic development in the future.Distribution network automation can make contributions to improving the power supplyreliability, productivity, energy efficiency, the quality of power supply, and reducing theline loss, with good economic and social benefits.This paper introduces the contents and the development of distribution automationat home and abroad. The paper introduces the typical models of distribution networkautomation and feeder automation technology solutions. Combining Renqiu distributionof space truss structure, powers distribution, equipment, the paper analyzes the problemsexisting in the construction of distribution network automation system, gives the feasiblesolutions, and show the importance of power distribution automation system. On thisbasis, according to the characteristics and actual situation of the distribution networkstructure, the paper determines the pattern of distribution automation system, thesolutions of feeder automation and communication systems and the various functions ofSCADA system, etc. The implementation of distribution automation system can improvethe quality and reliability of the city’s power supply, make contributions to the economicbenefit, technology benefit and social benefit of the power system.
