| This paper introduces the background and significance of distributing network automation, its development both internally and overseas,and its characteristics as well as its realization mode interiorly. According to the needs and general mode of distributing network automation, the methods and experience in areas where the construction of distributing network automation have been started, and features and actual situation in local distributing network, the mode of distributing network automation is confirmed. According to the selected mode of distribution system automation, the scheme of feeder line automation, each function demanded by FTU, the scheme of communication system, and each function demanded by distributing SCADA system.
