In recent years, there has been a tendency that aging population in China is accelerating remarkably because of two factors. Firstly, the birth rate is declining rapidly. In addition, the average life dependency is getting longer due to medical improvement in China. As the most populous country in the world, China also has the largest elderly population. It is predicted by expert that by 2030, the proportion the elderly beyond 65 of China will be higher than that of Japan, thus China could be the nation with the highest degree of aging population globally. In this context, comprehensive aging community emerges and rises in China. Evidently, comprehensive aging community has been mature in developed areas such as Europe and America. Contrastively, it is still in the exploring stage in China due to a lack of theoretical research and practical experience.The paper focuses on the study of the elderly community attachment by comprehensively exploring the factors of the olds’community belongingness. It aims to evaluate the rationality of our country’s aging community in practice and summarize its design strategies, in order to benefit its future development. The research can be mainly apart by the following aspects:Introduction gives the background of the current development of elderly community. It also introduces the framework of the paper and the research methods employed in it. Chapter Two analyzes the evaluation factors of the elderly community attachment to serve as a basis for specific fieldworks. Chapter Three and Chapter Four analyzes several cases of both China and foreign countries from the aspects of community participation, public service, communication space and environmental health-care. The attributes of Chinese elderly community and foreign elderly community are compared. Further, Chapter Five summarizes design principles and methods of the elderly community according to the results of the evaluation, accordingly raises a reasonable development model. At last, the article discusses the shortcomings of this study and look forward to the future orientation of senior living community.The whole thesis contains about 55000 words,209 pictures and charts.
