The inlet connection section of urban ring road is an important part of city road, which cause public concern about the ground connection problem. When inlet connection section linked to urban road, it could lead to traffic congestion. For example, the phenomenon of vehicles queuing duing rush hours or vehicles slow-moving in the inlet connection section was frequently appeared. In order to improve traffic conditions in the inlet connection section, numerous authors confirmed the connection section of geometic parameters impact of the running characteristics of traffic flow in the connection section. However, few researches are regarding the effects of improper for signal coordination control on conflict confluence of the traffic flow in the inlet connection section. Therefore,my research was focused on effects of intersection adjacent to urban ring road on the traffic flow of ring road entrance.First, we discussed on the important position of the inlet connection section of urban ring road system, and put forward the reasonable goal of the connections with urban ring road and conventional road. In addition, we also analyzed of existing problems in the connection area and discussed relevant solutions. Subsequently, the influence of process of adjacent intersections for the traffic flow in inlet connection section was described in derail. Additionally, the interval time distribution calculation model was put forward to adjacent intersections traffic flow entrance the confluence area of connection sectionSecond, we chose to the typical sections and intersections for the survey and got the relevant survey data. The results showed that the mian reason of traffic flow speed decrease was caused by the conflict of the traffic flow on the inlet connection section confluence.Thirdly, we set up a simulation model based on VISSIM, then peg model and validation were conducted according to the measured data.Lastly, we chose maximum queue wength, probability of the traffic queuing phenomenon occurring, traffic flow speed and traffic density as the evalution index. Beside, the influencing factors of traffic folw values of adjacent intersections and broadening length of confluence zone were selected. Under changed of the factors, we studied on effects of simulation on traffic behavior of the inlet connection section. Minewhile, critical analysis of traffic flow composite under certain conditions will be defined, and, corresponding regression model will be put forward.
