| Ganze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture occupying the west of Sichuan Province, located at the intermediate transition region from Qinghai Tibet Plateau--the highest region of China to the Yun-Gui Plateau and Sichuan Basin. It is on the border of Sichuan, Yunnan, Tibet, Qinghai four provinces. The eastern part joints Sichuan Ya’an and Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, bounded on the south by Sichuan Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture and Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan. On the west, Ganze adjacent to Tibet that on the other side of Jinsha River, and connects Qinghai Yushu, Golog Tibetan Autonomous Prefectures on the north. It is an important part of China’s second largest Tibetan areas.Yong Chung Bon and Gelug, Nyingma, Sakya, Kagyu and other sects in Tibetan Buddhism have a long history and widely influence in Ganze, also these sects presenta very actively prosperity. Sichuan Tibetan Areas, especially Ganze has a sublime religion and culture status and important political positions. Ganze not only has not many temples, including the sect’s main temple and the Odera, but also birthplace of many important religious figuresof Tibetan Buddhism likes9th Dalai Lama, and 11th Dalai Lama. Furthermore, olden times that China central government strongly supported Construction ofSichuan Tibetan religion in order to win the over Tibetan local government made Ganze became a very important link between China central government and Tibetan local government.Contrary to Ganze’s prestigious religious status, research about local Tibetan decoration issterile. Due to the current situation, in this paper, author tried to arrange and analysis thecharacteristics of Tibetan decoration in Ganze to complement the Tibetan areas’ architecture culture.Because the Tibetan Buddhism is closely related to Tibetan, monastery architecture become an important carrier of Tibetan Buddhist culture and Tibetan culture, in addition, religious culture of Tibetan Buddhism materialized expressed by decorative arts of temple architecture. This paper focus on Tibetan Buddhist temple building techniques and decorative arts in Ganze.Both quantity and exquisiteness of the representative Tibetan Buddhist monasteries and decoration are hardly be compared with other architecture in this region. This paper intended to study and analysis the decoration of Tibetan Buddhist temple in Ganze through a large numbers of relatively exquisite images and professional hand-painted patterns. Due to various historical reasons, regional architectural decoration forms are influenced by temple decorationin part. Simultaneously, this paper focusing on finding a better solution that how to combine modern architecture with traditional decoration in Ganze where has significantly geographical features and exemplified relatively successful practical cases for analyzing and summarizing. |
