With the development of engineering technology,and the improvement of dssign means, in order to complete a high quality large gravity dam engineering design in a short period of time on the basis of the original experience, it is necessary to turn two-demensional design concept into three-dimensional design gradually.So the three-dimensional design which has better visual effect, more intuitive becomes imperative means and the inevitable trend of future development in the modern hydroproject. As a powerful three-dimensional design software, CATIA has been widely used in aerospace industries. It has attracted attentions of water conservancy industry in recent years. In consideration of the need of the hunman-computer interaction interface and the second development, this paper adopts CATIA as a design platform, VB realizes the call as a programming language.Through the second development, this paper completes the gravity dam model of three-demensional design based on CATIA platform. According to the gravity dam design specification and precess, this paper completes the analysis of the gravity dam stability against silding through the human-computer interaction interface and the function modules creation of solving the gravity dam safety coefficient. As the main content of the following:First, according to the design precess and the function of the model,the model is parameterized definition.Then through secondary development, this paper realizes the nested and the call of CATIA amd realizes the control of CATIA in the VB interface to complete the three-dimentional model establishing. Through VB programming,we can establish the hunman-computer interface and creat the gravity dam design platform. We can complete the deep anti-sliding analysis of gravity dam according to the rigid body limit equilibrium method on the platform. As well we can creat themodule of security coefficient, resistance functions, effction fuctions. Through the design parameters of instance, we can calculate on the platform and check as the actual situation to verify the reliability of the software secondary development.This paper is a three-dimetional design-analysis of concrete gravity dam based on CATIA platform, and we develop the fuction module of anti-sliding stability analysis. It not only improves the efficiency,but also reduces the difficulty of using CATIA by the human-computer interface establishment in somewhere. And to establish a gravity dam three-dimensional design standardization processwhich makes the CATIA application in hydroproject more widely and more effective.
