Currently newly built domestic buildings are becoming taller and taller. With the improvement of living environment, people gradually have higher demand for space and comfort of rooms. On one hand, landmark buildings need to have leading height in a city. On the other hand, long-span spatial structures will give people spacial visual impact. However, it’s stricter to do structure type selection because of the tall height and large span. Meanwhile, it’s a great challenge for the first party to do such kind of construction management. The basic information of Wanda Mansion project, including geology, architecture, design, etc., is introduced. The key problems and difficulties during construction are proposed. New construction technologies involved in this major project, such as prevention and cure of concrete cracks, super-high concrete pumping, application of self-climbing attaching scaffold, energy conservation, new GBF hollow slab and waterproofing in buildings, is introduced. A new management model probed during construction is discussed in detail. The structural type is selected considering geology, humanities, etc. Then it is performed seismic performance analysis using PKPM、ETABS and MIDAS/GEN. In this way the seismic performance of the super-high shear wall structure of Wanda Mansion is proved to be practicable. It’s also been proposed that we must control in general and perfect in detail. Some key problems, such as placement of mass concrete, application of honeycombed core floor without beam and Assembled derrick floor, etc., are emphatically discussed. Then the project management innovation in this major project is concluded. Comments of completing such huge project management are made in the end of this paper.
