With the speeding up of urbanization and the extension of city sizes, urban public transportation demand continues to grow, and the sustainable development of urban public transport business draws much attention. Modern tramcar, as a kind of independent transport with energy efficiency, environment protection, comfortable operation, novel design,convenience and efficiency, is gradually becoming the world mainstream choice between general bus and subway systems, together with the other traffic modes to build urban comprehensive traffic system. How to ensure the modern tramcar in a safe and reliable operation within the premise of efficiency is a key technical issue.Modern tramcar signal system is an important mechanical and electrical system integrating tram command and operation. Its design performance directly affects the tram operational safety, operation efficiency and service quality. The switch region operation control system of ground main line is the core and necessary system, which is composed of the trackside controller and trackside infrastructure relating to traffic safety and realizing the tram orderly operation with rapid speed and high density. The trackside controller is the security control center of switch region operation control system centralizing the interlocking control host and various execution unit modules(including light control module, switch machine control module, and switch states driving and acquiring module etc) into a trackside control cabinet. Its performance design of system modularity and network intelligence will help realize the correct interlocking relationships within switch, light and track segments,while guaranteeing the route safety control.In the context of research on the switch region operation control system for ground main line in the modern tramcar signal system, this thesis designed and developed the full electronic light control module of modern tramcar with "2 out of 2" security architecture,while combining the organization structure of switch region operation control system and the satisfied interlocking control conditions when the tramcar runs on the trunk line, taking the trackside signal lamp as research object and using field-bus control technology, new electronic devices, closed-loop control technologies. The integrated module design of trackside intelligent monitoring and control can bring about site maintenance-free, convenient management, system updating and extension, and achieve the trackside light opening and closing safely and reliably while meeting the various operating conditions of tramcar switch region operation control system for ground main line.This thesis made a detailed hardware and software design according to the overall design scheme of signal lamp control module and its technical performance. In addition, the design technologies of safety and reliability that the module adopted are analyzed. The light controlmodule used dual redundant CAN(Controller Area Net) bus communication to realize the two-way interaction of information including interlocking control command, lighting state and the module’s own fault with interlocking control host. Through a single CAN channel, the module delivered monitoring information to the maintenance monitoring machine. Plus, the module adopted asynchronous duplex point-to-point serial communication to transmit synchronization and monitoring information among the internal microprocessors. The module control circuit accessed the same control conditions to achieve the lighting power bipolar control and the reliable switching of the light between go and loop line, and the same current detection circuit for gathering lighting loop current information to determine the loop state of light output. The design of independent power circuits realized the input and output isolation of distributed power system on the circuit board, thus guaranteeing the reliable and efficient operation of each hardware module unit. Moreover, the module is equipped with self diagnosis failure function, which conforms to failure safety principle of signal infrastructure.Through the practice of hardware and software debugging, the module showed its full functions, stable performance and strong practical value in engineering, which is suitable for generalization.
