In order to reduce progress experiment condition and convenience and break the limitation of time and space, the cam mechanism virtual experiment based on touch mobile platform is researched by using Unity3 D. The main content includes the design of cam mechanism, motion simulation of cam mechanism and the application of cam mechanism. The main goal of this paper is building a flexible expandable friendly three-dimensional cam mechanism virtual experiment running on touch mobile platform.Firstly, the research status of virtual reality and virtual experiment is researched. Cam mechanism virtual experiment based on mobile equipment is proposed by the disadvantage of physical experiments and the development of virtual experiment. Then, the theories of cam mechanism are researched which include the the description of motion curve, calculating equidistant curve, the design of cam mechanisms and motion analysis of follower. Based on the theory analysis of cam mechanism, the framework and function of virtual experiment are researched by component oriented ideology. In practice, it needs to combine cam with other mechanism.The virtual experiment allows users to design mechanism scheme according to requirement and simulating motion.This can expand the application of the cam mechanism virtual experiment. The multi-touch and vibration feedback of touch mobile intelligent platform is different from mouse and keyboard. The operation and user interface of touch mobile intelligent platform is different from the PC platform. So the interactive design of cam mechanism virtual experiment is researched. The key technology of virtual experiment includes the densign of curve, the real-time updating and generating of three-dimensional entity, import and export of file, assembling mechanism, observation of mechanism, kinematic sketch of mechanism and resource library.Unity3D and C# are used as tools to develop cam mechanism virtual experiment system which can run on android-based mobile phone and tablet computer.At last, cam-type insert mechanism is used as an example to complete system instance.
