Effect On The Functional Design Of The Cultural Center For The Industrial Operation

The management model of traditional cultural center, community art center, or workingpeople palace is based on public welfare. These buildings were built under the help ofnational’s financial support and carried out unified operation and management by national.Most cultural centers are facing to difficulties in operation and deficit year by year because ofthe problems for the underinvestment, obsolete facilities and simple function, sothe traditional cultural center has been transformed or disappeared which also has beencompletely unable to perform its functions as the window that meets the requirement ofindividual’s culture, education, propaganda and amusement. Since the party’s SeventeenthCongress, the government has put forward to revitalize the national culture and carriedforward the spirit of initiative, which leads to a large number of culture centers being built.Distinct from traditional culture center, the new one has transformed to the complex buildingwhich becomes the architecture aggregate of culture center, theatre, music hall, cinema,museum and science museum. It also becomes the city public cultural activities center and alandmark building. The modern culture center is the place citizen’s extracurricular activity,exhibition, education, entertainment, business and office work can get together.Meanwhile, learning from the management experience of the cultural centers for manyyears, the department in charge has started function structure reengineering of the culturecenter, removing some projects in bad management, increasing new functional space to meetthe needs of the times and the proportion of commercial area. Even to build it by thedeveloper and use the ground in exchange for the cultural center. So it can carry outindustrialization running mode with driving the development of public function by industrialfunction which can promise the Sustainable Development of Culture Center.Analyzing the basic functions and development situation of the culture centers in China,and the needs of culture center industrialization operation, This paper has tried to start frommulti-angle by analyzing the change in functional configuration of modern culture center and taking Binhai culture center as a design example which combines theory with practice. Todiscuss the functional transformation brought by industrialization running mode and thefunction design in the needs of public welfare enterprises running by industries for newcultural center, so it could provide some new ideas to culture center creation.
