The modifications of product parts occurs from time to time in the process of the aircraftdevelopment, which in turn calls for the modifications of the related tools. These kind ofmodifications, especially the complicated and lengthy ones that made in tools, are mostlyrepetitive, which, to a large extent, extended the production preparation cycle of aircraft.This article introduces the related design method of aircraft tooling by studying thepresent tooling design methods, which realizes the rapid update based on the modification oftooling design. Applying the technology of parametric design is a significant way to realizetooling related design and this text explores parametric design and parametric related methods.Compared to traditional parametric design,the technology of the secondary development ofCATIA based on CAA realizes the parametric related design of mass tooling. This articlestudies CATIA and the parametric related design functions of its secondary developmentplatform intensively, which, in the same time, develops the corresponding design tools andrealizes the related tooling design based on digital parameterization.
