With its development, especially the introduction and application of High-power ac drivetechnology, the electric locomotive has been leading Chinese freight locomotives. The oiltank, a key component of traction transformer, which is also the key component of electriclocomotive, has a very complex welding process, high quality requirements and a longproduction cycle, making it a bottleneck for the improvement of production capacity andequality. How to improve the welding procedure of oil tank and optimize the plant layout, andhow to improve the efficiency of oil tank welding production line and increase productioncapacity, has become the difficult problems facing enterprises.This paper designs the semi-automatic welding production line of the HXD1electriclocomotive transformer oil tank, produced by Lianchen Group. The main works are asfollows:(1) Analyze the oil tank structure and its working principle, key components and theirfunctions, and the welding process of a typical welding line, in order to provide theoreticalbasis for the design of welding production line.(2)Analyze and Design the oil tank welding procedure process, and then design the plantlayout of semi-automatic welding production line.(3)Model and simulate the oil tank welding production line with eM-plant software andanalyze the results by taking production line balancing rate, equipment utilization rate andproduction line capacity as evaluation indexs. In order to solve the problems of initial modelsuch as bottleneck point, blocking phenomenon and low equipment utilization rate, anoptimization proposal is put forward to improve the oil tank welding production line.This paper will have great reference value and guiding significance to enterprises inintroducing the wielding equipment, semi-automatic welding production line and layoutplanning.
