With the constant deepening propulsion of economic structure in our country, powerload demand of the national economy, national defense and other fields is becoming more andmore big, the requirement of power supply quality and reliability is becoming more and morehigh. The contradiction between power supply quality and reliability of power distributionnetwork and the modern needs is increasingly growing, how to promote the modernizationand application of urban distribution network automation have become a key step inimproving the whole distribution network power supply in our country becoming theworld-class level.First, this article outlines the basics of distribution automation systems and distributionautomation of various types of current advantages and disadvantages. During normaloperation and distribution network fault conditions and solutions, including: fault detection,fault isolation and non-realization of regional self-recovery methods.Secondly focuses on the feeder terminal unit consisting of hardware and softwarecomponents, FTU is an important part of the distribution automation, design and implementthe FTU according to the latest cutting-edge electronic technology market, detailing thecomposition of the system hardware and software protection algorithms, specific hardwareeach module include: core central processor module, high accuracy and fast AD module,switch module, GPRS wireless communication module, a wireless remote control module, thesystem to take appropriate measures from both hardware and software aspects of the FTUimproved anti-jamming capability, in software has taken a definite time and inverse time acombination of methods to protect the feeder lines and equipment, analyzed the effect of theapplication of the system.Finally, the distribution network fault location had been study in some part, and on thefitness function of genetic algorithm a new mathematical model was improved and a largenumber of examples through a lot of validation calculations indicate that the improvedalgorithm in the accuracy and fault tolerance has been improved.
