This research paper is based on35kV and lOkV substation in a big commercial project in china, the purpose is to study and design electrical automation for substation. Power supply, as one of the critical systems in buildings, and the stability of power supply is the key element for building quality, the integrated protection system was invented to meet this demand. Normally the integrated protection system is incorporated in concept design by design company so as to monitor the status of power supply. Also the system can be initiated automatically to keep people safety and reduce loses in case of power failure. But for some large-scale project, single and local operated system barely can satisfy the requirement. Large-scale commercial project normally has following feature:large-scale area, large quantity buildings and well-distributed buildings, single operated integrated protection devices are distributed at each remote area and worked separately. The command center can’t monitor the power system centrally without using a central-distributed system as well as data acquisition, recording, researching and analyzing. My research aims at electrical system in35kV/10kV substation to design a framework for SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system based on three level of terminal, communication and central. For design of software, considering the system stability and real-time we have developed a combination of embedded and windows base application software to meet the stability for terminal devices and real-time/extendable for central equipment. In the end, we tested the interface, transmission and in/output function of whole system, make the electrical system controlled automatically proved that the system can work effectively.
