In the past20years, the DCS equipment which is applied as the generator units control system was almost dominated by the foreign enterprise. In the late1990s, domestic DCS systems have been applied in300MW thermal power generator units. Until the beginning of the20th century, however, domestic DCS systems have not been applied in600MW units. In order to break the monopoly situation that the DCS system in large-scale thermal power generating units always dominated by foreign enterprises, an advanced DCS control system with independent intellectual property right have to be developed.Regarding the first application of domestic MACS in600MW units, the structure of its soft-and hardware will be introduced, and the overall scheme will be designed. Specifically, in this paper, the feed-water regulating system of the boiler steam drum of an unit is employed as the study object, the correction principles and control strategy for signal measurement are designed, and the software and hardware configuration of MACS is completed. Finally, the practical control effect of the steam drum level with different working conditions (e.g. High load, Low load, and stable load), shows that all performance indexes are in the required range, and the unit always keeps a good running situation, which demonstrates the proposed design can satisfy the actual engineering needs.
