With the intensification of urban pollution, fog and haze appears more frequently. Weather problems become the Beijing citizens’and even all the national people’s daily talk. The Party’s fourth plenary of eighteen session stressed on the Environmental Governance and strengthened to foster the development and utilization of new energy. In this context, clean energy which is represented by CNG (compressed natural gas) and LNG (liquefied natural gas) attracts much more attentions than ever before. Natural gas vehicles, gas stations, gas dispensers are supposed to be developed and manufactured synchronously. However, according to the survey, while the popularity of natural gas vehicles and the gas stations becomes more matured, the control system of the gas dispensers is relatively obsolete. Most CNG dispensers on the market operated upon Single-chip Microcomputer system or developed based on the ARM7core, such CNG dispensers with complicated operations and unfriendly interface could not upgrade in functionality and performance and are difficult to adapt to a new era of greater information and intelligence requirements.This paper presents a novel design of intelligent CNG dispenser control platform. The new platform has employed the "ARM+LINUX" development mode and both hardware and software are independent developed. The new platform not only is compatible with existing external device, but also has excellent scalability such as network support and touch screen support. Moreover it can be used as commercial products on the market. This paper focuses on the underlying design of the CNG dispenser including the hardware designed of the extended board and the software design. The extended board contains both the general ports and dedicated ports for the CNG dispenser. The general ports include serial ports, mini USB and RJ-45network port and so on. And the dedicated ports include the valve, special keyboard and pricing LCD. The software design includes the Embedded Linux drivers design for the special equipment on the extended board and the test programs developed based on the Qt.This paper was basically completed the sample design of the CNG dispenser control platform and realized the anticipated requirements, also put forward the later perfect and improvement plan.
