Underground pipe network have many kinds and very complex, is the city’s infrastructure and "Lifeline." Underground pipe network is the main vein of information and material. With the rapid development of urban construction and underground resources development, it’s greater difficulty to manage. Today, pipe line construction always destruct the ground, underground pipe network visualization has great significance to the management of project and the whole city, the traditional two-dimensional underground pipe network mode supported by the rapid development of science and technology has been very mature, but because it is limited to two-dimensional visualization of coordinates, it is difficult to space description and information presentation for the underground pipe network. A three-dimensional model of the underground pipe network is more authentic, visually describe the three-dimensional features of the pipe network, can more truly reflect the spatial distribution of the underground pipe network.Three-dimensional visualization of the underground pipe network is based on the three-dimensional model building, so the three-dimensional model construction of underground pipe network is a key step in a three-dimensional digital network applications perform. Based on the traditional GIS (geographic information system) field modeling applications, try to use BIM (Building Information Modeling) and other new technologies, new means to visualization of the underground pipe network, extract the model information, and realized the practical application of collision detection and engineering quantity statistics, provide the basis data for the actual project management life cycle, which is the first innovation of this paper.Because of the three-dimensional visualization of the underground pipe network have practical significance must rely on the construction of buildings on the ground as well as three-dimensional terrain models. In this paper, the entire campus area into two group:the ground part of the whole, including buildings, structures and terrain in the campus area, respectively, construct the three-dimensional model of buildings, structures of so on; underground part of the whole are complex underground pipelines, Because of the underground pipe network buried in the ground, the internal medium is not visible, tube well is the key to connect ground and underground, thus on the basis of making the tube well visualize to construct three-dimensional models for various professional pipeline, and focus on the visualization of the internal medium, which is the second innovation of this paper, in order to achieve applications of internal and external integration of the underground pipe network.Based on the digital cities construction, using GIS technology to achieve a conversion of three-dimensional model, underground excavation, thematic map production,3D volume calculation, buffer analysis, burst pipes simulation, solar effects,3D flight digital virtual reality simulation capabilities, and on the basis of analysis the domestic and international underground pipe network information system, attempt to achieve a variety of data types management, map operations, database connectivity and many other functions; comparing with GIS and BIM research status and problems in the underground pipe network visualization applications, to study the issue of fusion.Facts have proved that the use of BIM technology for underground pipe network visualization application can provides innovative ideas for visualization of the underground pipe network, is an important reference value for the actual project design and output statistics construction; conduct pipeline internal media visualization, tube well facilities visualization, and panoramic three-dimensional modeling, provide a more complete and accurate reference data for the actual underground pipe network applications.
