The Research About The Enlightenment Of Shenzhen From The Public Housing In Hong Kong

ABSTRACT:The public housing in Hong Kong provide a great number of flats for the Hong Kong citizens, especially for the low-income families. It is well known in the world that public house in Hong Kong is low-rent, good quality and well managed. Countries like Singapore and Japan have their own public housing policy to comfort the society and facilitate their people as well.In order to reduce the gap between our country and those developed ones, it would be necessary to learn from them since we start a bit late. And it would be quite suitable for us to learn from Hong Kong which is already professional in this area.However, one important thing is out of sight apart from those which has already been paid much attention such as society, economy and the management of public house, the design itself becomes low sense. Researches about the design of the public houses are so less that even there is it usually without plans and unit type. No doubt there is little discussion about it. But in fact, the construction can’t be done in such limited time, finance and a rough surface of mount without deliberate design. The same situation happens till now today.In summary, this issue discusses and focuses on the source of architecture which means the design, floor plan and unit type of the public houses in Hong Kong in order to find the enlightenment for Public rental houses in China. The issue is divided into five sections. In the first section there are some background knowledge and the reason why to choose this topic for research. Then in the coming section there is a introduction of public housing in Hong Kong. The important part begins in the third section which mainly focuses on the characteristics of design of the public houses in Hong Kong. With floor plans and unit types, the fourth section will show the whole revolution of public house in Hong Kong in last five decades. And finally, the last section five out the rule of the development of public house in Hong Kong and suggestions for the construction in Shenzhen.
