Research On The Characteristics Of Urban Openness Of The Public Housing In Hong Kong

As a new pattern of residential area,the residential block has great integration with the city in spatial morphology.Such remarkable achievement of Hong Kong Public Housing,which dated from 1953,has earned itself worldwide reputation and been acknowledged as the model of effective resident guarantee internationally.Some estates and courts of the Hong Kong Public Housing have completed the practice of opening up to the city,which can be used for reference in the development of the residential areas in China.Firstly,this paper illustrates the background,content,method and significance of the research,which based on the new requirements of the current residential construction in China and the image of Hong Kong Public Housing.Secondly,with the analysis of the concept of residential block,the study and practice in China and abroad,this paper clarifies the connotation and characteristics of the residential block.Thirdly,considering the development of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Public Housing,the paper sorts out the appropriate estates and courts with characteristics of the urban openness.This paper expounds the external characterization and the internal reason of the integration of public housing and the city from three aspects,as the delimitation of the border,the intervening of the urban elements and the overflow of the residential block elements,according to the case analysis and the field investigation.With first-hand information,this paper provides reference and enlightenment for the design of the residential area in China.
