With the requirement of high efficiency, high speed, precisestandards, build a new power supply relationship between grid real-time interactionwith users, promote the development of smart community, smart city.It not only canprovide users with personalized interactive already, but also can offer good supportfor "triple play", moreover can provide all kinds of smart service for community.In theaspect of standarding Smart Power and promoting the construction of the smart grid isof great significance.At the same way, Smart Power is able to bring good social andeconomic benefits and to improve the power grid security, reliability and timeliness toachieve a far-reaching influence.High-speed communication channel as theinformation carrier, is one of the important part.At the same time, with the diversification of network value-added services,themarket demand for bandwidth is increasing.“Optical ccess for replacing copperaccess”,” Fiber-To-The-Desktop”,which have begun to large-scale popularization andApplication. Against this backdrop, the demand of smart grid power use forhigh-speed communication becomes more urgent. Accordingly, Selection of acommunication access technology is suitable for all kinds of indoor access that wasthe key of realization of the Smart Power use.In such a situation, Ethernet Passive Optical Network(EPON) technology camewithin our view. EPON technology is the combination of Ethernet and Passive OpticalNetwork technology, which also has the advantages of the former two.It becomesmore and more attention to the market by way of the network structure of point tomultipoint to achieve high bandwidth access to all kinds of business. As a result of being provided with mature and stable, safe and reliable, low cost, easy managementand maintenance and other advantages, EPON technology is still the preferred schemeof Power FTTH intelligence, whether from the technical or economic feasibilityanalysis considering the feasibility analysis.This paper is based on EPON technology as the analysis object, combining withthe characteristics of Smart Power use and starting from the basic principle of EPONnetwork. It mainly introduces the development status of EPON Technology, includeoptical line terminal, optical network unit, splitter, drop cable and other commonlyused networking equipment and Burst control, synchronous technology, fiberprotection switching, ranging, auto-discovery, and other key technology works, andfiber to the home (FTTH), fiber to the home (FTTB), fiber to the node (FTTN) andother networking,and And a brief description of the concept of Smart Power use. Onthis basis,following the thought of from general to specific, from local to the overalltrain and standing on the point of two technical and economic,it does thecomprehensive analysis of EPON technology with the advantages and disadvantagesof electric field in intelligent network. Moreover, it also elaborates systematically thetrain of thought of Realization of fiber to the home through EPON technology.and itdo the in-depth study of EPON equipment laying on the principle of choice and theway residential networking cables networking, networking equipment design. And theconstruction of the FTTH instance through the Zhongxin knowledge smart city ofGuangzhou for piloting, which from the cable construction, network channelconstruction, equipment installation and other aspects of the system to describe itsimplementation.
