With the high-speed economic development in twenty-first Century, people paymore attention to the social spiritualconstruction. Country’s aesthetic level is a reflectionof the national spirit, while the aesthetic ability of children, country’s future pillar, playsan important role in raising the national aesthetic level.With the method of combing theory with practice, the article,basing on the existingprimary school campus space environment design, involvedpsychology, aesthetics,architecture and other related fields, and also its study considered various factors suchas contemporary social environment, teaching environment, the concept of education,the aesthetic factors. Aware from the existing primary school campus, most of ourcountry’s primary school campuses are mass builtin batch mode, which has satisfied thebasic requirements of safety, applicability, and economy, while it has a gap in the spaceenvironment design of aesthetics and aesthetic culture edification. Hence, how to buildsafe, applicable,aesthetic-culture-edification campus withlimited economic resourceshas become a challenge confronted by many areas. With the study of children’sphysiology and psychology,the article made a comparison of the formation anddevelopment of the children’s aesthetic ability in different periods, especially focused onthe aesthetic characteristics of children aged6-13, and the guiding affection of campusenvironment to their aesthetic ability training.Referring to children’s aestheticperception, imagination, understanding, and creativity, the articleanalyzedthe primaryschool campus’ basic functions of space, changeable internal space combination, theappearance of the building and the exterior environment of the building, put forward thecommon space environmentdesign method of primary school campus which couldimprove the children’s aesthetic ability. Even more, the article made a deep analysis onthe breakthrough of the campus consistency, and formed an integrated primaryschooldesignsystem based on children’s aesthetic ability edification.Finally, after casestudy of several typical primary schools,the article prospected primary school campusdesign direction in21stCentury, and concluded the idea and method of primary schoolcampus design on the view of aesthetics, besides the principleof safety, applicability,and economy.Hereby the article would be used for reference for designers to build a beautiful and excellent learning environment which is good for the cultivation ofchildren’s growth and the aesthetic ability.
