In the construction background of child-friendly society and the cultivation background of the open education,the current campus open space has been difficult to meet all kinds of children’s diverse behavior.School is not just a simple’knowledge factory’,it should provide children with a more active and dynamic campus space,promoting children to carry out all kinds of behavioral activities,and space design should be carried out according to the behavioral pattern needs of children.Therefore,from the perspective of children’s behavior patterns on campus open space research has important theoretical significance and practical value.First of all,more than 20 primary schools in Wuhan were surveyed in this paper,from the overall planning,space safety,spatial accessibility,humanization of Space,the children’s behavior model and other aspects to summarize the present situation of campus,and do case analysis on the domestic outstanding campus space.Secondly,this paper combining with theory to analysis the overview of children’s psychological behavior,and to analyze and classify the behavior pattern of children according behavior nature,behavior scale and behavior object.Then,this paper analyzes the connotation of campus open space,and classify campus open space from three angle of functionality uses,spatial regional and behavior patterns.Then,combining with the previous theoretical research,the paper focuses on the children’s behavior patterns to discuss the design principles and strategies of primary school campus open space,and summarizes nine primitives from three aspects of children’s behavioral,space optimization and emotional needs,and proposes the design strategy from four dimensions of open space.Finally,combining with the actual case of the 11 th Primary School Project in Tanghe County,Nanyang City,and apply design principles and strategies to provide some reference for the open space design of campus buildings in China.
