With the development of modern society, tourism has become a widely modern socialchoice of entertainment, and its rapid development has also led to the development of touristsouvenirs at full speed. Good tourist souvenirs can not only attract attention, increase sales,but also play roles in promoting awareness and development of the entire city, thus attractingmore and more attention in itself. Since tourist souvenirs are often closely related to the localculture, they should be fashionable and what’s more important that they should have culturalconnotations at the same time. As a result, it will be easily known that design for culturaltourism souvenirs shows particular importance and practical significance under the newbackground of the cultural and creative industries. Kikungshan is the author’s hometown ofXinyang City, Henan Province, a five-star tourist, and well worth studying due to its excellentculture.In this paper, data collection and research was conducted on the current situation at homeand abroad, and Classification features and design principles of tourist souvenirs wascoherently summarized firstly; Raising the status of the cultural and creative industries inKikungshan based on its excellent culture and comparison with other scenic were followed byexplaining the basic concept of cultural and creative industries and tourist souvenirs topropose extraction methods and extraction process for Kikungshan’s available resources.Then a finished practical case was designed.At the end, clear position of design for touristsouvenirs was made., aiming at specifying direction of research for Kikungshan’s touristsouvenirs and playing a valuable role.
