There were some problems in the sewage drainage pumping station system, such as low1evel of high lift and large energy consumption, frequent start and stop pump equipment, and th e lack of pre judgment ability for sewage level, when sewage in sewage pumping station syste m is pumped manually. At present this operation mode was mainly. So sewage in the station w ould be overflowed on the road surface when large flux in the sewage station in the flood pron e, causing the environmental pollution or safety accidents.For the existent problems of the sewage drainage pumping station system, city sewage pumping station and pump unit as the object of study and B sewage pumping station in xi’an as a model, the paper conducted the variable frequency control method for energy saving, safety and environmental protection. After analysis of uncertainty, nonlinearity and complex lag of sewage pumping station, PLC was chosen as controller, inverter was selected as the executive mechanism in the control method. Through analyzing circulation of pumping station and pumps, a series means of energy and pollution reducing were proposed, mainly at dropping lift, the variable frequency control, optimal combination of unit. The pump units were running in high efficiency area and sewage level remained constant, by controlling the multiple parameter of the sewage pumping station, such as pumping station liquid level, water level, flow. The paper has designed the hardware actuator and software operation system, carried on the run in sewage pumping station B, obtained the practical data, and the data has analyzed.The results showed that using variable frequency control scheme with the management strategy of pumps was feasible, and avoided the sewage from wells overflow on the road, and there was21.9%energy-saving effect, compared with the former and the results of theoretical analysis. The optimal operation of pumps group, operating mode management strategy, variable frequency control method introduced in the paper, they were certain guiding significance to the sewage pumping station management.
