With the acceleration of urbanization in China, the pressure of urban traffic is increasing, major cities have issued many politics to ease it and the development of rail transit is undoubtedly one of the most effective means. In addition to the first-tier cities, Tianjin, Shenyang, Kunming and other cities have already opened subway. Many cities such as Dalian and Qingdao which are building subway have sprung out even more. Some experts predict that subway will gradually become the first choice for the general public because of its vast capacity, convenient and efficient and so on.On-board PIS (Passenger Information System) is an important component of the current intelligent train, it is made up of three subsystems including PA (Public Address) system, PIDS (Passenger Information Display System) system and CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) system. Among them, the CCTV system is mainly responsible for monitoring the status of train, video recording, playback and other tasks; it plays a key role in the safety of train operation and passenger.In this thesis, the train-borne CCTV system controller is designed on Linux embedded platform. Compared with other Windows platform, the Linux embedded platform not only has no copyright issues, but also greatly reduces the cost. In the process of software design, it can complete the functions of system and also take into account memory usage, CPU usage, network quality and other issues. Moreover, the software can get basic information by loading configuration file, which makes it have strong generality. It can be applied to different projects with different configuration files.This thesis firstly introduces the development of train-borne CCTV system and starting from the demands of train-borne CCTV system, the typical network topology structure of the system is described. Then the message format and protocol rules among devices communication are given. In the end, the functions such as real-time monitoring, video storage and playback, interface operation and system setting and so on are studied in detail.
