The oil ring and cylinder liner is one of the most important friction pairs in internal combustion engine, which impacts directly the performance, reliability and durability of internal combustion engine. It is very necessary to study the lubrication performance of oil ring-cylinder liner friction pair of the internal combustion engine.In this paper, the lubrication performance between oil ring and cylinder liner were investigated, in which the influence of different lubrication models and oil drainage holes is considered. The main content of this paper include following five sections:(1) IntroductionThe research status and history of the lubrication and wear performance of oil ring-cylinder liner frictional pair wear summarized.(2) Sufficient lubrication analysis of oil ring-cylinder liner frictional pair at different conditions based on global modelThe multi-dimensional and asperity contact model of oil ring-cylinder liner lubrication was established, in which the region of solution is the whole axial height of oil ring. The global model assumed that the oil ring got sufficient lubrication and the circumferential lubricating state was uniform. The lubrication characteristics of oil piston ring-cylinder liner friction pair at different working conditions were analyzed.(3) Sufficient lubrication analysis of oil ring-cylinder liner frictional pair at different conditions based on local modelThe multi-dimensional and asperity contact model of oil ring-cylinder liner lubrication was established, in which the region of solution is the effective axial height of lands. The local model which was based on global model considered the change of boundary conditions, loading conditions and film thickness equation. The lubrication characteristics of oil ring-cylinder liner friction pair at different working conditions were analyzed. The results were compared with that of global model(4) Lubrication analysis of oil ring-cylinder liner frictional pair at different conditions considering oil drainage holesThe flow model considered oil drainage holes of oil ring-cylinder liner of friction pair was established. According to the balance equation of oil flow, the effect of oil drainage holes on the lubrication characteristics of oil ring-cylinder liner friction pair at different working conditions were analyzed.(5) Summary and prospectThe sufficient lubrication analysis of oil ring-cylinder liner frictional pair and the lubrication analysis of oil ring-cylinder liner frictional pair considering different models and oil drainage holes were summarized. The lubrication analysis of oil ring-cylinder liner frictional pair in the future was discussed.
