With the deepening of electric power system reform, the power industry market-oriented has become an inevitable trend. So, electric power companies must change the way that company develops, change their grid development, and pay more attention to grid planning and construction. The purpose of power grid planning and construction is providing a matching grid for the growing power load of the region. The power grid planning and construction must ensure the power is safe, economical and reliable delivery to the relevant users.Life-cycle management approach is a technical and economic evaluation of management methods that not only taking into account the investment cost of the project but also taking into the operational and post-project-related technical parameters. It considers the long run after the project construction including the maintenance, troubleshooting, and scraps costs. The Grid project’s feature is high intial investment, high operating costs, and long service time. So, it makes reason that the LCC management is suitable to find the balance between economic indicators and technical parameters in power distribution planning and provides a basis for plan optimization of power distribution planning. It can ensure relevant technical specifications of the power distribution system meeting the requirements and seeking the minimum life-cycle costs and achieve economic investment optimization.In this paper, we designed several power distribution plans for Shangrao under the premise of meeting the relevant technical specifications. It will break down the cost of power distribution in Shangrao under the LCC theory in this article. Then it decides the relevant cost calculation method and discusses the idea of computing technical indicators. At the same time, the LCC theory will be applied in power distribution planning to choose the best program among the different plan. This paper discusses the results of LCC theory that using in power distribution planning in different regions(city, county, rural). LCC theory provides a basis for plan optimization of power distribution planning in Shangrao. It also provides suggestions for the power distribution planning in a similar supply area. And it gives some practical application examples to prove that LCC therory has great value in the power distribution planning.
