In recent years, the electric power industry is developed, the scale of the power grid is bigger, the structure of the power grid is becoming more and more complex, as an important place of substation power system, it plays a crucial role in electric power system. With the deepening reform of management system, power system transformer substation automation technology is also in progress. With the development of digital communication technology and multimedia imaging technology as the foundation, the implementation of substation remote video and image monitoring system gradually favored by people, and for the field of visualization and environmental monitoring in substation, the realization of "unattended, few people on duty" provides a reliable guarantee. Substation tele video system is a product of the development of electric power automation technology, is due to the need of unmanned substation and safety operation.In this paper, the control center of Bayannaoer Electric Power Bureau of remote video monitoring system is design. First analyzed the background, significance and research status of remote video monitoring system of electric power substation control center, and then introduces the concept of remote video monitoring system, the basic principle, system composition, software and hardware design and development tools, and the Bayannaoer Electric Power Bureau control center running situation and the demand of remote video monitoring system is analyzed. According to the current situation of Hubei and Bayannaoer Electric Power Bureau, established a set of remote video monitoring system to realize the control center, station end video, electronic map, dynamic environment monitoring, remote patrol, sequential control operation video verification, electrical equipment wiring diagram display, security technology to guard against information, image intelligent analysis, staff access to information, fire alarm information about the collection, monitoring and intelligent video linkage function, and all information transmission to the control center, has realized the unified management of each system.
