Contractor’s Programs PMC Management Model Study

Following the Chinese government’s Step Out strategy, the Chinese state owned construction companies are having more and more oversea projects. Design‐Bid‐Build model, Design‐Build or other kind of construction model are usually used in the project management. In the mean time these models could not meet the requirement of the continue‐changing project execution environments. As a relative new project management model, Project Management Contract is welcomed by most of the entities gradually.The employer and the PMC contractor could bond their management advantages to achieve the final project goals under the model of PMC contract. Previously the studies did not give a way of management for PMC model from the Contractor’s point of view. This paper mainly discuss two topics: how to establish the model of contractor’s program management under PMC contract and how to use the Web technology for the proper transmission of the projects information. The paper starts from the basic theory of the project management via Prince2 and PMBOK, which are the most important project management systems. Based on the project management process and project management knowledge parts, we establish the contractor’s programs PMC management model and execution model under the circumstance of the school project environment. The paper also gives several points for the actual management after the practice of the school programs project management.There are two innovations from this paper: 1)this is the first time to study the PMC management from a contractor’s position. The PMC model is finally created for the school programs. 2) we use the information technology and Web technology to make the information coordination management system, from which we establish a good communication way for the successful management of the project.
