At present,1# and 2# (20000,30000 ton) liquid chemical berth and 1# and 2# (100000,70000 tons) general cargo berth of northern work area have been completed and put into service. North of work zone 3# bulk cargo berth (150000 tons) have been built, while 3# and 4# (20000,30000 tons) liquid chemical berth are under construction. To meet the requirement of the 100 thousand dwt general bulk cargo berths and large berths to be built, it is necessary to construct the 100 thousand ton waterway in the linking area between Northern harbor of Lanshan port and 2# waterway.Based on Lanshan port cargo traffic flow and waterway regulation engineering situation, this paper makes a research on the construction safety of the 100 thousand ton waterway project of the Northern harbor of Lanshan Port. Firstly, combined with the waterway engineering locates the geographical position and the project overview, analyzed the Lanshan port of North harbor on the status of the natural conditions, and introduced the traffic conditions and the present situation of the security;Secondly, based on the influence of the waterway construction on the navigation safety, a deep research is made on natural environment, traffic organization and the port facility. Lastly, an evaluation system is set via analytic hierarchy process and an assessment on the safety of the 100 thousand ton waterway construction of Northern harbor through fuzzy comprehensive evaluation, with the result of comparatively safe. At the same time, it is necessary to point out that safety is a comparative concept. The changing of various factors may still result in accident. The analysis of the paper can provide reference for the safe construction of the 100 thousand ton waterway of Northern harbor of Lanshan Port, which may further safeguard the safe navigation of vessels passing by.
