Our country has a vast territory and population. The construction of rail transport facilities is the effective way to solve the problem of traffic congestion and economic development in the long run. At present, China’s rail transportation can be divided into the Intercity High Speed Railway and Rail Transit. The monitoring systems, Train operation control system and integrated supervisory and control system (ISCS), are a reliable guarantee for trains. According to the vehicle equipment and ground transponder, train operation control system performs the task of safe operation and positioning correction by GSM-R network. ISCS provides a full range of services for the train by the use of various types of sensors and information technology. At present, the rail traffic develops towards intelligent direction.The Internet of things, especially the promotion of radio frequency identification (RFID) and wireless sensor network(WSN), provides a new idea for the monitoring mode. And it is an effective way to achieve rail traffic intelligence. Based on this idea, the paper presents the framework of intelligent security monitoring network in rail transport. The monitoring network is divided into four layers according to the function structure. From top to bottom, they are monitoring center, communication network, the intelligent gateway and data collection layer. Then, the article describes the function of each level and the composition of hardware. The data acquisition layer is the perception terminal of the whole monitoring network. The intelligent node captures RFID and sensor information, and it realizes the intelligent perception of rail transit. The article designs the intelligent node using the MSP430 control chip, MF RC522 RF reader chip, CC2420 wireless communication chip, temperature sensor, data memory and voltage stabilizing chip. And it illustrates in detail the working principle of the intelligent node and networking flow of system.The new system can be deployed independently in special sections of rail transportation, and also be merged into the existing technology design of monitoring system. The monitoring center gathers the RFID and sensor information of the monitoring area through the data acquisition layer, and it improves the construction of intelligent rail transportation.
