Wide-range Barrier Free Design For Public Buildings

The idea of equality of people and human-orientation has been widely accepted with the development of society and the constantly improvement of material and spiritual civilization. In the field of architectural design, not only the traditional barrier free design for the disables and the elderly gets wide attention, but also a wide-range barrier free design for ordinary people began to get attention. Based on site investigation andnetwork questionnaire, etc., authur analyzed the present situation of public building barrier free design, then researched related books to sum up the basic meaning of wide-range non-barrier design. On the basis of public buildings as the research scope, and taking general public as the research object, the authur put forward a more suitable wide-range barrier free design theory for public buildings in the needs of social development.The board sense of public buildings,is mainly reflected in the expansion from the disables and the elderly to all of the people in the service object; barrier free facilities design content is no longer confined to the traditional sense, but the design of the barrier free environment for all the people,including indoor and traffic system, building facilities, signage system and so on. The service object and design content of general public building barrier free design are more advanced than traditional barrier free design both in depth and width. It is an extension of the barrier free design in the traditional basis, and a result of the increase of social demand on the barrier free design.
