Development Of Remote Meter Reading System For Heat Metering And Regulation Based On GPRS

The central heating is the main method of heating in winter in northern towns of china. With the implementation of household metering method, a large number of the heat meters and temperature-control valves are applied. However, the traditional manual meter reading method is inefficient, and the cost is too high. Therefore, the development of a remote meter reading system is of great significance.This paper has developed an automatic remote meter reading system based on GPRS. Through this system, data and commands can be between the bottom heat meter network and the upper computer server, so as to realize automatic meter reading, remote control, automatic billing and other funcitons. This paper also studied the stability of remote meter reading system, and proposed some improving methods through hardware and software methods. Finally, the remote meter reading system has been applied in the practice application. Following five parts are included in this papar:The first chapter systematically describes the background of the remote meter reading system. Some existing meter reading system and their application in water industry, electricity industry and gas industry are also reviewed. Finally, the stability of GPRS are also commented.The second chapter develops the hardware of remote meter reading system. This chapter develops the bottom M-Bus communication module, and develops intelligent data acquisition system of the middle layer. The hardware configuration of upper server are also given. Finally, this chapter proposed some hardware methods to improve the system stability.The third chapter develops the sofeware of remote meter reading system. This chapter develops the M-Bus communication program based on MSP430 singlechip, and develops the monitoring program based on DSP2812. The server program are also developed in this chapter based on Asp.net(C#), and some sofeware methods are also given to improve the system stability.The forth chapter describes the application of meter reading system in the actual situation. This chapter proposes the wiring and construction method of the meter reading system, and on-site fault diagnosis method. Finally, the pratical operation performance data of the meter reading system are given in this chapter.The fifth chapter summarizes the content of this paper, and proposes the potential research work in the next prospect.
