This paper analyses current situation of distribution automation application technology, Suzhou distribution network, the pilot area of grid structure, an equipment, automation system, communication system, information system of in-depth research, analysis of the need to solve the problems in the reform of distribution automation, make overall planning, reconstruction and upgrading, a master device and distribution terminal, communication network, information exchange and other aspects of the construction, according to the target with the transformation of the pilot project of distribution automation in Suzhou.Through the pilot construction of distribution automation, which can effectively improve the power supply reliability of distribution network of Suzhou City, effectively shorten the fault outage time distribution line, enhance the enterprise operation and management level, improve customer satisfaction, to achieve operational excellence in distribution network.
