Interior environment largely effects human health physically and psychologically, because human beings spend most of their life in interior environment. As a kind of culture carrier, ancient settlements are also subjected to the residence of part of modern citizens. Unfortunately however, ancient villages are forced to be in the dilemma under rapid urbanization, leading to its damage and breakdown. As a consequence, the interior environment will deteriorate drastically. On the basis of ancient village protection, this dissertation intends to conduct relating research and assess the interior physical environment and is expected to build dwellings to satisfy the basic needs of the local residents and contribute to an ideal human settlement in certain district.Initially assumptions are made as to the thesis main theme, and then an evaluation index system is built primarily according to some relating theory about the effects of interior physical environment on human health. Thirdly, the dissertation draws a series of subjective conclusions on the basis of sufficient survey of the current living condition of local residents in Yixing and their evolved evaluation system questionnaire. In addition, further on-site experiment of local dwelling’s physical environment are conducted, including necessary analysis and summary of local resident’s current living condition and existing problems, which corresponds to the expected assumption mentioned in former chapter. Finally, suggestions toward an improving interior physical environment are came up with on the former discussed questions.
