This paper is about the power systematic frequency deviation that aroused by the fluctuation of load as control plant, combined nowadays load frequency control technology of automatic generation control in coal-fire power station, use classics PID control and self-tuning fuzzy PID control to realize the control performance requirement, and carry out simulation with comparison. The paper is divided into five parts: Article beginning with short introductions of the development of AGC technology, its constitutes and characteristics. The second part introduces its function, elaborates the relationship between load fluctuation of controlling for plant and the frequency change as well as nowadays its characteristics and the technology of frequency modulation of power system, also, the control modes are included. The third part by researching each link physics structure in coal-fire plant, a single area AGC model and the AGC of two-area interconnected power system are found. The third part introduces the controller briefly. In the part of fuzzy control system, some concepts and principles concerning fuzzy control as well as the composition structure of the controller have been introduced. Finally, after model is established, first, use classics PID as its controller, then, because of the disadvantages of classics PID as controller, self-tuning fuzz ycontroller is adopted to improve it. Use the SIMULINK tools box of MATLAB to simulate the AGC model of coal-fire power station and get the result of expectation. Article in final is about AGC summary and its prospect.
