In azimuth measurement field, intersection positioning method is widely used in the military, transportation, medical and other fields because of its advantages of high precision, simple and practical for coorperation. The error analysis as a key point of positioning study posseses a very important meaning and value in research, and attracts more and more attention. This thesis firstly classifis and summarizes the error analysis method in our nation and abroad from recent years, and explains its general principles and points out its advantages and disadvantages, which provides the basis for the study of the error analysis method presented in this thesis.Secondly, we introduce the optical imaging principles, through the analysis we can know the location function of the area array CCD derived from the horizontal pixel, so the analysis method of linear CCD is also suitable for area array CCD. Before the analysis of the positioning errors, we should figure out relating error sources, and introduce where do these errors come from, before the real measurement we usually need to do the measure parameter calibrations, good calibration method has the noticeable function to reduce errors, so a fully discussion of the error sources and the parameter calibrations will be beneficial to the subsequent work of error analysis. Then, this thesis establishes the mathematical model of the intersection positioning, and discusses the available field of view, station arrangement, for double-camera intersection positioning, based on traditional error analysis method, this thesis presents a improved algorithm by using the probability distribution function. By assuming station arrangement error distribution obeys Gauss distribution, we can get probability distribution function of the final results, the simulation experiments verify the effectiveness of the function we obtained, the forecast can be made for the error variation of azimuth, and verify the Gauss model by datas in real measurements. The analysis results show Gauss model is 5 times better fit to reality than traditional method. Finally, based on the improved algorithm of the double-camera positioning, this thesis proposes improved algorithm of multi-camera intersection positioning, by the least-square method, we obtained the synthetic formula of measurement results, through which the results will be multiplied by different weights to get a comprehensive estimate, then the simulation experiment was carried out to verify the algorithm. The results show that the algorithm provided in this thesis has more accuracy.Through the analysis presented in this thesis, we may have a further understanding on analysis methods of intersection positioning error, a guidance for calibration of parameters, accuracy estimation and station arrangement in measurements done in reality, as well as a referable direction of subsequent error analysis research.
