With the rapid development of China’s urban agglomeration, the city is no longer a separate entity, communication and learning between towns become increasingly closely, and the development of urban is increasingly depending on promotion of urban agglomeration.With the fast, safe, convenient, environmentally friendly and high-capacity characteristics,intercity rail is essential for the communication between cities. It can adapt to the development of urban agglomerations well. In order to achieve the target of efficient transfer convergences between intercity rail and urban transport, we should coordinate the transfer convergence problem of in inter-city rail transit planning and construction phases.The paper first summarized the research status in passenger transfer between inter-city rail transit and urban traffic at home and abroad, and introduced the background, significance and the main content of the research. Then the author clearly defined the concept of the inter-city rail transit, and discussed the difference between transfer and connection in definition, and summarized the technical features of the inter-city rail transit, and analysis the connection between the intercity rail transit the urban agglomeration and the urban traffic.The second, this paper focused on the transfer and the connection between the inter-city rail transit and urban traffic. Based on the research in the typical examples of urban transfer and connection between the inter-city rail transit and urban traffic at home and aboard, the author summarized the main modes of connection, and put forward the definition of multimodal modes of passenger transportation hub, and built the prediction model of passenger flow in multimodal modes of passenger transportation hub, with the method of the trip distribution model.The third, from the perspective of passenger, the author summarized transfer modes of passenger in transportation hubs, and how to design passenger flow organization, aimed and the problem of the inter-city passenger flow and the urban traffic flow superposition in hubs during peak hours. The calculation method was summarized, and the connection between hubs and urban transportation ways was analyzed. The author has also emphasized the importance of the capacity matching between the transportation.Finally, the author built up the evaluation index system of transfer and connection from the perspective of passenger transfer efficiency, urban development and environment benefits. With the method of AHP- fuzzy analytic hierarchy process method, the author compared and evaluated the different projects of transfer and connection between inter-city rail transit and urban traffic, and took the example of transfer and connection of the Hang-shao inter-city rail transit and Hangzhou city traffic to prove the practicability of model.
