Research Of The Village Spatial Form In Lian Yungang City

With the literature-summarizing method, instance investigation method, comprehensive analysis method and other methods, this thesis deeply analyzes the spatial form of the rural settlements in Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province from different angles. This thesis studies and summarizes the rural spatial form types with regional features in Lianyungang to provide theoretical foundation for improving the environment in Lianyungang, as well as for the study of rural spatial form in our country.The first part of this paper is preface, which mainly elaborates the research about the village spatial form and experiences of construct and summarizes for the literatures.In the second part, by research and analysis, this thesis divides the rural spatial form of Lianyungang into three major types, namely centralized, dispersing and stripe; as well as seven minor kinds, namely “L”, “V”, “fishbone”, “slotted”, “splattering”, “cluster” and “block”. In addition, this thesis analyzes the distribution characters, space-forming elements, layout mode and the factors influencing rural spatial form in detail.The third part is the empirical research. Three different morphological types are selected to discuss their spatial patterns and elements.Now, the research and background information about rural spatial form in the north of Jiangsu Province is infrequent. In my opinion, in order to expand the vision of new-village construction, especially to improve rural human settlement and optimize rural living environment, village should be treated differently according to their properties and morphotypes. Respecting every village’s character could achieve the goal of rapid, healthy and sustainable development.
