Huaneng Tibet Power Generation Co., Ltd(Huaneng Tibet) is a regional power generation company based on hydropower station, mainly for the cascaded hydropower stations development in Brahmaputra.This paper aims to construct an advanced centralized control center system, and proposes constructing the expanded plant control room(Shannan centralized control center) at the Zangmu camp for centralized controlling the Jiexu, Zangmu, Jiacha hydropower stations on the middle reaches of Brahmaputra through the research on other large hydropower stations and learning from foreign advanced technology. At the same time, this paper proposes constructing the Linzhi centralized control center at the Linzhi base of Huaneng Tibet for centralized monitoring the cascaded hydropower stations on the middle and lower reaches of Brahmaputra. Besides, this paper also proposes constructing the Chengdu operation management and technical support center for remote monitoring all the power plants on Brahmaputra. The program proposed saves construction investment, reduces operational staffing and improves working environment of production management personnel.Combining with the remote centralized control scheme constituted by Shannan centralized control center, Linzhi centralized control center and Chengdu operation management and technical support center, this paper researches the integrated automation system of centralized control centers, constructs the integrated automation system and its security protection architecture, and completes system network and bandwidth allocation as well. Meanwhile, in order to achieve the safely, stably and economically operation of power plants, adapt to ‘unattended’ production management of the modern hydropower stations, also meet the requirements of centralized scheduling management and distributed network controlling for modern, digital power station, this paper proposes a wide open and distributed solution for the integrated automation system based on the cascaded hydropower stations on Brahmaputra. Besides, this paper establishes the overall structure of computer monitoring system, data exchange system, fire control system, industrial television system, communication system and other major subsystems of integrated automation system. It also completes the configuration of functions and devices of corresponding system.Highlights of this paper are:(1) that planning the remote centralized control for the whole valley at the beginning of the first power plant construction and putting the centralized control center into operation at the same time with first unit of the first power plant.(2) which does not set up the control room and the host computer of monitoring system on site during the construction of a domestic large-scale hydropower station.(3) Establishing the construction standards for building “Unmanned station group, remote centralized control” of company as well as future management of company stations.Based on the research on the remote centralized control solution and integrated automation system of control center of Brahmaputra, this paper completes the design and planning for remote centralized control system of the watershed. It can reduce the cost of construction for power plant centralized control, optimize staffing, improve the working environment and stabilize the staff team. The design also can provide a practical experience for the development of large-scale hydropower station in Tibet.
