Researching Of Traditional Houses Of Leizhou Area Basing On The Cultural Geography

Leizhou region is located in the south-central region of the Leizhou peninsula, which is in the southernmost tip of mainland China. Leizhou is known as "the imperial place in south of China" in history. As one of the four major cultures in Guangdong, Leizhou culture occupies an important position in history. However, few of research results for Leizhou traditional village and residential culture have emerged till now. Leizhou regional culture has shaped the local specific village layout-form and uniquely dwelling-pattern, under the cultural geography’s effect, this local village and dwelling pattern undoubtedly shows great value in regional daily-life space research.Leizhou culture is blended by Leizhou indigenous culture, Fujian culture, Guangfu culture, Central-plains culture, foreign culture and other cultures. It is a new regional culture, which has the continuous area and the same region features. As the developing of Leizhou culture, Leizhou traditional village and residential landscape has been through a process, and finally turn into Leizhou local cultural landscape which is unipquely. With the help of cultural geography, this paper is aim to describe the spatial distribution features of Leizhou traditional villages and dwelling houses, and analyse the origins after classifying the culture areas.In this paper, there are three core research contents: first, building the Leizhou region traditional village and residential cultural geography database and drawing cultural geography maps; second, dividing the traditional village and residential culture area in Leizhou region; third, analyzing the reasons of cultural geography characteristics and evolution mechanism of the culture area.Two important conclusions are sumed up in this research: first, the regional cultural features of Leizhou traditional villages and dwelling houses is effected by many other cultures, especially the Fujian culture and the Guangfu culture; second, the uniqueness of Leizhou traditionall village and residence, and the difference between four culture areas, are based on local specific geo-graphy conditions and human conditions.
