Expression Of Regional Culture In Ancient Village Landscape

China is a country with an ancient civilization and long term history, which is also a traditional agricultural country, possessing large amount of ancient villages,becoming precious cultural heritage of human beings. Most of these ancient villages maintain completed residential buildings, historical landscape, traditional customs,rustic folk customs, and natural sceneries, sufficiently reflecting history and tradition of social culture. As important carrier of regional culture, ancient villages possess irreplaceable historical and cultural values.With rapid development of national economy, in the trend of industrialization and urbanization, the survival and development of ancient villages are faced with great challenge and opportunities. Most ancient villages are overdeveloped, whose identity and regional cultural features have been seriously destroyed, of which some ancient villages are gradually disappearing. Those ancient villages surviving possess more values for existence and being protected. As to the rural settlements in the process of modernization and urbanization, especially those ancient villages with different historical cultural deposits, what is the correct outlet for them? How to make ancient village landscape characteristic? Regional cultural must be integrated into protective development of ancient villages, realizing inheritance and continuity of historical culture of ancient villages, providing a new channel to existence and development of ancient villages. As a result, how to create ancient villages with regional cultural features becomes important subject worthy of attention, which is an also important problem inevitable in development of ancient villages.As a result, the thesis takes the expression of regional cultural in ancient village landscape as research object, and makes researches on how to express regional cultural connotation, continue ancient village context in the research and practice of ancient village protective development. The thesis adopts research methods including materials collection, field investigation, case study, practice research andso on, starts from the perspective of expression of regional culture in ancient village landscape with regional culture as the core to analyze constitution and features of ancient village landscape, as well as concepts and features of regional culture,explains the relation between regional culture and ancient village landscape, and explores the expression carrier, methods and strategy of regional culture in ancient village landscape. The thesis takes Meixiao Village, Haikou as research object and makes further exploration about the practical application of regional cultural expression in ancient village landscape based on theoretical system above and analysis on landscape in Meixiao Village, and proposes suggestions as to the application of the strategy in protective development of ancient villages based on this.
