Research On Electrical Appliance Manufacturing PDM Applied Technology

Electrical appliance industries use computer-aided design(Computer Aided Design) technology to design the product, greatly reducing the product’s design cycle and improving the market competitiveness of the electrical industry. But at the same time, the application of these technologies also brings some new problems to the enterprise, such as the low level of information sharing, the speed of information transmission being slow, document management being behind, these issues need to be addressed urgently.Product Data Management(Product Data Management,PDM) is a technology based on software. The technology can manage all product-related information and all product-related process. From the perspective of the enterprise’s information flow, CAD system and PDM system are at upstream and downstream separately in the development process of the product, and there are more business contacts between the data in the two systems. Integration between the two system can largely shorten the product development cycle and improve production efficiency.Firstly, the concept of PDM technology and main functions were analyzed and studied. The current architecture mainstream of PDM system was also studied. The United States Oracle’s Oracle database was used as PDM system’s underlying database, and VB.NET was chosen as the development language to develop a small sets of PDM system. Finally, the three integrated modes and the integration-related technologies between CAD system and PDM system were discussed. The switch cabinet was used as an instance of electrical product to integrate CAD system and PDM system, realizing the bilateral data exchange between the two systems.
