As the cause of our country’s higher education enrollment expansion policy moves forward, the number of university students increases by years, university campus construction has accelerated, requirements of energy-saving and protection of ecology are facing unprecedented pressure; the change of concepts on higher education, emphasizes realizing person’s full scale development, dedicates to fostering interdisciplinary talents, which presents a new challenge to the teaching building design. On the one hand, influenced by many factors such as the level of social development, natural geographical environment and historical tradition, compared with plain regions, mountain areas are more urgently need the popularization of higher education to enhance their own strength. On the other hand, although the concept of sustainable has been widely recognized by the society, it has not go deep into the core of college campus planning and buildings design yet. Most of the universities’ construction and management modes are still following traditional ways, Types of campus building are badly need of breaking out of the role. This paper aims to basing on the current situation of university construction in the new period, in order to achieve multiple goals of energy conservation and emissions reduction for colleges and universities buildings, integrated development of college students, protection of mountain eco-environment, through the point of sustainable theory, explore design methods of sustainable college teaching building which relevant to the objective reality in the mountain regions in our country.This paper aims to discusses and analysis for the general methods of sustainable building design, combines with the investigation of college teaching buildings in Chongqing, sums up the characteristics of mountain college teaching buildings design, analysis the basic characteristics and construction of space for teaching buildings, clarifies the core content of the design, combines with the theory of sustainable, and proposes the design goal of mountain university teaching buildings: achieves the harmonious development among humanity, architecture and environment. University teaching building belongs to one of building types, needs to extract from common sustainable design method and balance the sense of place of mountain environment, integrates and put them into practical application. Based on the design goal of sustainable mountain college teaching buildings, discusses and research the design strategy from the overall layout, single building, materials and structure, green technology and system, summary, optimize and refine sustainable design strategy system. And then with the help of process emersion for relevant strategies in the practice project to validate and perfect the sustainable design strategy system of mountainous university teaching buildings.The article researches on the design theory and the strategies of mountainous college teaching buildings, through the point of sustainable design theory, the conclusion is as follows:① The overall layout of the teaching buildings: Grasp the situation of the mountain wind climate, according to the local actual situation, merger overall layout form, use building orientation and slope direction to improve space utilization and select appropriate method to adapt terrain, in order to reduce the destruction of the mountain environment which come from construction activities.② Design of single teaching building: Determine appropriate building dimensions by integrating kinds of factors such as climate and terrain-a prerequisite for energy conservation of buildings, ensure the realization of the education quality of buildings and better integration with mountains, based on measures such as multi-dimensional construction greening, increase the indoor occupant comfort level. Led to that teachers’ and students’ multiple behaviors and psychological needs are satisfied, all-round development of human beings.③ Building materials and structures : Use local building materials to reduce waste in the process, choose lightweight, durable, varieties of adaptive structures to cater to the complex mountainous environment, through standard, prefabricate way of construction, making the construction process reduce the damage to mountain environment as far as possible.④ Green technology and system: Use the technology of green campus life, a guide by which to live, Choose the appropriate energy saving and environmental control technology, optimize allocation of limited mountain teaching resources, increase the utilization rate.
