The accurate temperature measurement is crucial in the study of solid propellant rocket engine. We can understand the condition of the engine and the burning from temperature information. Also, there has been a heated discussion about precise observations of plume temperature among insiders. With the betterment of CCD(Charge Coupled Device), the technique of applying CCD to monitor high temperature objects has been showing great performances in development.This thesis is inspired by a project of The Sixth Research Institute of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, who was entrusted to complete the testing procedures about the plume temperature of solid propellant rocket engine. The research institute is supposed to design high-speed metering equipment and upload images obtained by CCD image sensor to a host computer that will run the following software processing.By comparing and observing various performance parameters and employing staple CCD colorimetry, the paper clarifies the logic of the designing and makes specific plans on software and hardware. Moreover, in the design of the software, the author makes use of MATLAB to finish the revision of codes to guarantee the smooth running of the system and to decrease errors and redundancies.Finally, by perfecting the system debugging and system standards, the author enhances operating reliability of the system. A standard black body furnace is used during the calibration of the system. The data are obtained by choosing a temperature value every 100 K within the range of 800 K to 2000 K, then choosing different exposure time in every temperature value to gain a rich supply of data. We also manages to ensure the appropriate usage of technical indexes and to maximize the optimizing of codes that leads to faster and more timely information gathering and analysis of plume temperature field. The paper in addition offers the improvement programs of the system.
