This paper introduces a kind of intelligent lighting control system based on ZigBee and GPRS technology. It includes ZigBee terminals node, router, coordinator, GPRS module, server, Web server and the mobile client software. The architecture of the system relies on adhoc network structure. When it needs to increase the terminal lamps, we don’t need to make a complex setting on the system, besides the power suppling of the new terminal street lamp is connected, and its label is described in the management server.These bring a great extension of the system. The system adopts two level network structure model using the GPRS and ZigBee, and it has realized remote management and control of the terminal street lamp system. At the same time, the temperature, humidity, smog, air pressure and the photosensitive sensor circuits for the terminal street lamp are also designed. The data collected by the sensor transfers to the server based on the ZigBee and GPRS networks, which realized the basic environmental monitoring of the terminal street light area. The terminal lamps read the photosensitive sensor value by CC2530 master control chip, which realized automatic on-off and automatic brightness adjustment for the terminal of street lamp, which saves electric energy consumption. It also improves the intelligent management level of the LED lighting system and testing monitoring level of urban environment. The system can also successfully completed data exchange between the server and the mobile phone client or the Web clients. So the mobile phone client and the Web users are able to real-time understand and control operation state of the system, and has made a great convenient for the system maintenance.The design of the intelligent lighting control system can be divided into four steps. The first step is to know the related technologies of application in the system, determine the communication scheme used in the system, design the overall framework, introduce the detailed work process of the system and analysis the modules of the framework in detail. The second step is design for the core of the system hardware module, which mainly including the design of coordinator, routers, terminal street lamp, all kinds of devices used in concrete involves the system selection, analysis the function of the module circuit, design specific circuit of module for coordinator, router and terminal street lamp. The third step is the design for the core modules of software, including coordinator network configuration program, the GPRS gateway communication program, routing algorithm, sensor acquisition and terminal street lamp automatic brightness adjustment procedure. The fourth step is to realize the remote monitoring function of the system, mainly including the backend server, system database design, mobile phone APP software design, the Web server configuration.
