The Research On The Architecture Decoration Art Of The Vernacular Architecture In Southeast Shanxi Ancient Villages

Vernacular architecture is the simplest, frankness part of Chinese traditional architecture with fully human kindness. However, the value of the vernacular architecture is far from correct and fully understanding. With the rapid development of society, there are many contradictions between the protection of ancient villages and development demanding. Our vernacular architecture was destroyed in a large scale at very fast speed. We must aware that the loss caused by the extinction of a culture is greater than the loss caused by the extinction of a species.The author based on the traditional region culture, aiming to the decorative arts of Southeast Shanxi ancient village as the subject of study, and discussed how to protect the decorative art which is full of traditional culture and aesthetic details and how to inherit the application in modern design.The research combined the characteristics of living environment in Southeast Shanxi ancient villages, including regional ecological characteristics, social economy etc. The study focused on the decorative arts of Southeast Shanxi ancient village architectural, mining of Confucian culture, folk culture, traditional cultural spirit, and sum up the artistic characteristics and cultural connotation of the decorative arts of Southeast Shanxi ancient village architectural. Through investigation we could understand, the decorative arts of Southeast Shanxi ancient village architectural whether in use function, form and decorative materials are influenced by the cultural values, ethics and religion culture.Chapter 4 and 5 are the focuses of this study- in-depth study of the two preceding chapters on the traditional culture and architectural decoration art concluded thatthe construction of the decorative arts of Southeast Shanxi ancient village architectural is acritical part of Chinese traditional culture heritage. It is not only has the authenticity meaning of the history architectural, but also the aesthetic value of art. At the mean time of protecting traditional and local cultural characteristics, we need to coordinate the issue of modernization to ensure the harmoniously coexistence of the traditional culture and the modern technology.
