With the development of quality education in China, the traditional spatial environment of school buildings has been unable to meet the current needs of teaching.Educational world have put forward higher requirements for primary and secondary school buildings in the new century. The learners are unconsciously influenced by learning environment. So the school needs to provide a high quality learning environment for education to promote the mental and physical. development of students and lay a foundation for Chinese innovative talent strategy. This paper mainly researches architectural space and environment design of middle and primary schools in our country based on the the evidence-based design. Finally to summarize a set of design method and principle of space and environment based on evidence-based design.First, this paper summarizes its characteristics and process through the theory study of evidence-based design and describes the extensive application in medical architecture and the exploration of educational facilities in detail.Secondly, to carry out basic research – the study of development in primary and middle school buildings at home and broad and learning theory. It researches on the history and trends of school buildings design. And summarizes the deficiency of the current design methods and the problems need to be resolved. Then study the relationship between learning and behavioral psychology and eaplore the important learning theory and transformed into design idea.Again, is evidence-based practice-- the domestic reseach and the study overseas of primary and secondary schools. To summarize the changes of teaching and requirements by of building space environment based on the investigation. Then it analysis of evidence-based design case characteristics of foreign schools.Finally, the implementation of scientific inquiry-- evidence-based design and school building space environment characteristics construction. To sums up the design principle and method from multiple functional, space multi-level, flexibility, guided and physical environment.
